May 24 Workshop to Educate Long Beach’s Small Business Community on the Health Care Law

The Office of Long Beach Vice Mayor Robert Garcia and South Bay Latino Chamber of Commerce to host a free workshop to help small business owners and the self-employed learn what the health care law means for their business and what steps are needed for compliance

While many Long Beach small business owners have heard about the Affordable Care Act (ACA), most lack a full understanding of what it actually means for their business and how it will impact them and their employees. Because small businesses are the backbone of the economy, we must move beyond the political rhetoric so that employers are provided with accurate information so they can make informed decisions about their health coverage.

WHEN: 11:30am-1:30pm, Friday, May 24, 2013

WHAT: A workshop on the health care law to educate Long Beach’s small business community on the business-specific provisions of the health care law.  The session will explain the available small business tax credits, the health exchange and other available benefits to small businesses.  A question and answer period will ensure that all participants have a clear understanding of the health care law, important milestones and deadlines.
**Spanish translation will be available for participants.
